About Us

World class rider training with a sense of family

Alan & Sherry CheslerIn 1996, Alan and Sherry Chesler, the parents of an up-and-coming show jumping rider, realized that they needed a place of their own in Mono, Ontario, Canada where their daughter, Frankie could train on her road to becoming one of the best riders in the show jumping world. Thus, Sher-Al Farm was started and gradually grew into a world class facility where both riders and horses learned from some of the best the equestrian world has to offer.

Trained by her father Alan, Frankie Chesler climbed the show jumping ladder, not only as a rider but as a renowned trainer of some of the best horses to enter the show ring (see below for more information). In 1997, Frankie achieved one of the highpoints of her career winning double silver medals at the North American Young Riders competition aboard her home-trained Quarter Horse, Braveheart. The accomplishments after this are just too many to list.

Frankie Chelser & Raveena ZSince its beginning in 1996, Sher-Al has grown from a small family-only riding barn into a well respected open training facility. We built 3 barns, an outdoor riding ring, 13 paddocks, and an indoor arena that is attached to the main barn transforming this lovely property in the Hills of Headwaters into a first class equestrian centre. Over the years we have trained many young horses and riders. Our family of riders are known for starting jumping at the 1m heights and advancing up to North American Young Rider success and eventually to represent Canada at international Nations' Cup competitions.

Today, Sher-Al-Farm operates on 50 acres and offers indoor boarding, outdoor boarding, miles of spectacular trails, one-on-one as well as group training lessons, and a riding school to help children who have a dream of riding to live that dream.

We are also an active show barn, competing and gaining recognition on the "A", Trillium and local show jumping circuits. Our riders can take advantage of our many services including trailering, grooming and coaching both at shows and at home. Be sure to take a look at our Facilities, Boarding, and Lessons pages to learn more about how we take such pride in helping our clients have the best in equestrian services.

Above all else, we at Sher-Al Farm are dedicated to our clients' well-being, whether they have four legs or two.
